SHUWAN & HEAVENSAKE

A VESSEL REIMAGINED

Sake has always been inseparable from the vessel that holds it.

For centuries, Japanese artisans have understood this: the cup is not merely functional, it shapes the experience, frames the ritual, honors the liquid within.

Enter SHUWAN, the Tokyo-based studio redefining sake service for the modern era.

Founded by sake visionaire Takeyasu Showima, SHUWAN creates cups that bridge the gap between traditional ceramic ochoko and contemporary wine glass, capturing the cultural reverence of the former with the aromatic precision of the latter.

The collaboration was inevitable. HEAVENSAKE has always championed serving sake in wine glasses to unlock its full aromatic potential. SHUWAN shares this philosophy, but with a distinctly Japanese sensibility: wide enough to release fragrance, shaped to cradle warmth, beautiful enough to become part of the ceremony itself.

Together, we've created a limited-edition sake cup that embodies our shared values: heritage meeting innovation, function elevated to art, and the belief that how you drink matters as much as what you drink.

Each cup is handcrafted, bearing the subtle imperfections that mark true artisanship. The form fits naturally in the hand. The lip feels like silk against the mouth. And when HEAVENSAKE is poured, the vessel becomes what it was always meant to be, a frame for elevation.

From Tokyo studios to discerning tables worldwide.
