TWELV. & HEAVENSAKE
Friendship, Tokyo, Sake
Nine years ago, two brands met in Tokyo with the same impossible dream: making sake the next big thing in the alcohol world.
Back then, sake was still shrouded in mystery, intimidating to most, misunderstood by many, relegated to the back corner even in Japanese restaurants
Today, sake is the new cool kid on the block. And a lot of that shift happened because of brands like TWELV and HEAVENSAKE and refusing to accept the old narrative.
Taca-san & the Birth of TWELV.
Norihiro Tacamizuma, better known as Taca-san, founded TWELV., one of Tokyo's most iconic sake bars, with a singular mission: to strip away the pretension and bring sake into the modern world. Not by dumbing it down, but by celebrating its depth and versatility in the heart of a hidden speakeasy.
TWELV. isn't a stuffy tasting room. It's a living, breathing space where sake flows as freely as conversation, where curious beginners sit alongside seasoned connoisseurs.
Taca-san represents the new generation of sake lovers: knowledgeable but unpretentious, deeply rooted in tradition but unafraid to experiment, serious about quality but allergic to snobbery.
He's exactly the kind of person HEAVENSAKE was made for.
Nine Years. One Vision.
When the founders of HEAVENSAKE and TWELV. first crossed paths, the connection was immediate. Both were outsiders in their own way—HEAVENSAKE bringing French Assemblage to Japanese sake, TWELV. bringing Tokyo bar culture to a drink that had grown distant from young Japanese audiences.
Over the years, that shared vision turned into friendship. Late-night tastings. Collaborative events. Endless conversations about the future of the category.

Redefining a 2,000-Year Legacy
Taca-san and HEAVENSAKE are part of a movement redefining what sake means in the 21st century. Not by abandoning its heritage, but by making it desirable.
From Tokyo to Paris, New York to Ibiza, sake is having its moment, from TWELV Tokyo to the world.
Nine years of friendship. One shared mission.
